  1. i love it!

do you already play clarinet? the fingerings are essentially the same

  2. personally, i love the bass clarinet. i loved playing it, especially when i made county honor band with it in 8th grade. the bass clarinet is not hard to play. if you play clarinet already, the transition should be extremely smooth. for me, when i stopped playing and returned to the soprano version (the regular kind) again, i was amazed at how different it was especially the size difference. also, the reed change from clarinet to bass clarinet shouldn't be a problem. however, from bass clarinet to clarinet, my embroucher was way off. the last time i played, i was on a 3.5. when i returned, i had to go back to a 2.5 which sucked. basically, playing the bass clarinet is fairly easy. it's the going back to clarinet that people kind of have to worry about.

  3. that depends, do you already play an instrument? or do you already play a clarinet? if you play a clarinet, it will be much easier to switch to base clarient, then it would if you

    a)play another instrument

    b)don't play any instrument

it isnt easy, but it isn't rocket science. just practice a bunch! and try to get used to holding it up.
