I was told it is'nt hard to fix and replace the screen on my polaroid i733. I was told you just unscrew the screws and take the case off. After that you disconnect the broken LCD screen and replace with the new one. Is this true?

  1. If replacing the LCD screen out weight of getting a new one then you could replace it on your own. One thing to remember is that you want to prevent static - just like when you drag your feet on a carpet with a leather shoes static - when handling electronics. It's best if you can get a pair of surgical gloves to protect your camera from static from you. Or before you handle your camera, place a metal on your side of where you work; touch it to get rid of any static from time to time - just to make sure - before and through out when handling your camera. Makes sure you washed your hand with soap, to get rid of the oil or what ever oil you have on your hands.

Here's a site for how to, with pictures - but it's not the same camera model (it's a Coolpix), though. But you'll get an idea.

  2. I'm afraid it may be more involved than that. If it were my camera I would go to a camera repair shop and get an estimate. Your camera may not be worth fixing, sorry.
