  1. Hi Peeda, No it is very easy. Most scooters, even the big ones its simply a matter of twist the throttle and go. It is automatic and effortless. Mainly though, buy a big enough scooter to keep up in traffic. Minimum (consider this the economy model) is 125cc. 200 or 250 is preferable.. You;will have so much fun you won't want to get off. If you ride in the rain, cold, wind etc and still have fun you are a real rider.

Why not consider a 250cc cycle? The slightly used cycle market offers some real deals and I think you'll sell faster when you want to get out or move up.

  2. The thing that makes it hard, is the intimidation a 2 wheeled machine with an engine can give to new riders.

Start riding at walking speed - with the automatic transmission, there's no worry about stalling the engine.

Turn the throttle a fraction and feel the scoot start to move (while you're sitting on it of course).

Keep your feet on the ground and walk while it's moving.

If it starts to move faster than what you're comfortable with, release the throttle.

Get a feel for how the brakes will stop the scoot, as you pick up speed.

As you get used to it's bicycle-like handling characteristics, increase the speed a little to where it will move with your feet off the ground.

Keep it slow at first in case you freeze up with fright.

Try not to let it intimidate you.

    Have fun.

  3. can you ride a bicycle?

  4. No it is no harder than riding a bike. Get a size to do what you want. They start at 50cc and go up. If all you are going to do ride on city streets then just get a 50 they go 35 MPH if that is enough save your money and get one. Take a msf course to be safe.

  5. just as hard a a motorcycle

  6. No. Riding a scooter is much easier than a motorcycle because you do not have to worry about shifting. You simply turn the handle and go.

At first, you may have a little anxiety about keeping your balance (similar to riding a bike), but you'll get it in no time!

The hard part is having people take you seriously on that thing! I'm kidding. If anyone gives you a hard time, tell 'em to enjoy the ride in that gas-guzzler.

    Have fun.
