  1. Snowboarding is definitely MUCH harder to learn... (your feet are strapped to one board, with nothing to hold onto for balance) your body will most likely take a beating... but, once you get it, you can generally improve very quickly. Some people also say it's "scarier" to learn snowboarding because when you are on your toe edge, your body isn't pointed down the hill, and since beginners often forget to look where they are going, it feels scary.

Skiing is easy to learn (your feet are seperate, which obviously helps balance and weight distribution and you have poles to help balance too) but it's hard to improve and get from snowplowing to parallel. If you can do the "hockey stop" on skates, that will be a big advantage to you.

Personally, I tried skiing first, but couldn't quite master stopping. That generally ended in disaster. I had what's often called a "yard sale" every time I fell - skiis and poles go flying everywhere, scattered across the hill! I had a long learning curve with snowboarding , but it was definitely worth it!

Whatever you try, my best advice to you is to take a lesson!

  2. snowboarding is a lot harder. for one thing you have nothing to stop with on a snowboard, your feet are strapped in. also its not easy to turn on a snowboard, it is a skies.

  3. usually, it is harder for snowboard. Because you feet are locked on the board. And it is more difficult to move on flat terrain.

    However,

If you have experience with skate board or surf board. Snowboard would be easier.

If you have experience with roller skeet or Rollerblade. Ski would be easier.

  4. In the beginning skiing is harder you have you earn how to keep everything aligned and in control  snowboarding you have to learn how to control one big board skiing is keeping track of two smaller ones  but to be blunt there both a pain in the *** to learn  it takes longer to get the hang of skiing but once you do you will progress faster than on a snowboard were it's faster to get the hang of but slower to progress but with a good instructor ether will come to you and it's raelly personal choice  and if your on a budget ski's tend to be cheaper than snowboards hope i helped = )
