Is it harder to cross the mexican border?

It's so easy. When I come back from the US I don’t even need to show my ID or Passport at the Mexican border... but then again I’m Mexican.

Not if you have a US passport.

An American going to Mexico needs a passport. A Mexican coming here needs a visa.

It's dangerous in Mexico at present. Read this before you visit.
