  1. If it causing concern I would suggest you track his sleeping and habits and if that still cause concern bring him to the doctor.  Please also remember children go thru growing phases which may cause for a child to want to sleep more than normal.

  2. ever heard of "let sleeping babes lie??"  It so ok to let your baby sleep, he NEEDS it...my kids used to nap from 9-11 and then 2-4, of course they are bigger now and don't, but we still require them to "take a break" around 1 or 2 and they usually fall asleep.....kids play hard, and it's a good time for you to rest too!!

  3. yes let him sleep. he is probably going through a growth spurt. you will most likely see an increase in his appetite to.

And be thankful for the extra time!  i just wouldnt let him sleep too late in the day (you want him to keep his bedtime routine)

  4. most kids need much more than 2 hours -i still need 8-12.  he's normal.  let him rest.

  5. i'm guessing you didn't mean to put 2

but, the more sleep that you get, the more tired you get.

So, I would keep the boy on a schedule, with 8 or 9 hours of sleep a night, no more, and no less

he won't be able to sleep this much when he goes to school, so if you start him on a schedule now, it'll be easier when he starts school.

  6. As long as he has a regular bed time and gets up at a routine time in the morning - his naps can be as long as he needs. These habits with change before you know it. But always keep a bed time schedule for as many years as possible - it's critical to healthy development.
