My father and sister both have clinical depression and I do too, however, I do not want to do anything about it. I just want to live with it and deal with it myself... Is this ok to do or is this bad? Is this healthy or unhealthy?

  2. NO! Not at all. Depression not only affects you, but also those around you. My good friend was going through depression and it was painful for me to see her like that. She gave up sports, her social life, and her grades dropped. She was knocked from her rank as #2 in the entire class to #15!!! She was just like you. No one knew about her situation in her family and neither did she come out to her friends. She was just always lonely and sad. I guess she thought she could do it alone but she couldn't. Her parents eventually understood that something was wrong with her and got her therapy but it was too late. She had already missed out 3 great years of her high school life. And for her, it didn't get better. She is doing fine now, though the doc said she does have a tendency to fall back into depression again. Don't let it get worse for you like she did. Get help as soon as you can.

  3. Apart from Enoch, it annoys me to see people give advice on something they know nothing about. It is like trying to get a male to understand labour pains. If you have not had depression you have no idea what you are talking about (readers) and do not tread on dangerous ground.

Get professional medical help now. It can only get worse otherwise.

  4. Its not really a good idea to live without the medication as that will enable you to live a fuller life, and you may become worse without it.  Do some research on alternative medicine to see if there are more natural herbs or plants that you can try and see if anyone else has tried natural remedies.

  5. As someone that suffers from depression and is on meds, the only answer is it is extremely painful physically and mentally to go untreated, I never want to cry 24/7 and pray that God takes me in my sleep again! Dealing with it yourself does not exist with clinical depression. Trust me!

  6. It is very bad and unhealthy. I recommend seeing a counselor. I don't recommend pills but i would think that they are better then nothing. BUT if you want to live with it it's your choice.

  7. Try natural or low stuff,it may help you as it helped me and others.

    Listen up !

Ca + Mg + folic acid + omega 3 (Very important) +rodiola rosea

you can take omega 3 for years like i do.

  8. Here is how it works. If you can live independently. manage your affairs, and procede with planning your life successfully then yes, just live with it, deal with yourself, and don't do anything about it.  But if you depend on others to provide for you while you do nothing to improve your situation, then it is not okay. If you feel that despite depression you are able to function efficiently

at whatever tasks or duties you perform to earn a living, or fill the role of parent, spouse, sibling or child without causing others pain or upset, then yes, it is okay not to do anything about it.
