I was never an exceptional student in High School, yet now in college I am driven by an obsessive impulse to be perceived as smart and I am continuously seeking knowledge and reading constantly. Is this normal or obsessive?

  1. My fella you have a healthy obsession!  Seriously, it's not an obsession! Nothing wrong with wanting to be as smart as you can be as long as you're doing it because you really want to learn and not to impress others. But, keep doing it please. That's what's wrong with society now, too many dumb, ignorant people running around who frown down on education and think going to jail and having s*x is the only important thing. You're on the right track and you're in college. You're okay, don't start problems by thinking you're not.

  2. Absolutely not!!!!  I am 48 and still going to college.  I wasn't really into school in High School but in College I got into it and after my first two years I went into the Army.  I got my Masters and now I am working on a PH D. I plan on continuing getting degrees until I cannot make it to school anymore or until I can't take online classes anymore.  I feel that learning keeps me more in touch with what is actually going on in the world.  It keeps me young and healthy.  You are not obsessive, you are wise and on the right path in life.  Good luck!!!

    Peace & Love  :)

  3. It's Definately not Wrong.....

Its down right good, if half the people in the world had that way of  " Thinking" and Doing we would be in a whole other planet...

Just dont become a Jerk, thinking that you are better than certain people just because you are smarter in specific ways!!

  4. Learning should be your primary goal in college but being overly concerned with how others perceive you is a waste of brain power. Just remember that a stupid person will often not recognize intelligence in another person because they're too stupid to make that assessment!

    Ha!! : P
