Is it healthy to try lose weight while pregnant??

Well I haven't gotten my time since june15th it is now august 22nd an my boyfriend well ex boyfriend left me for alcohal he's an alcohalic he was never like this but ever since he hasnt been working thats all hes been doin gbut anyways i want to get my life back the life i had before i met him 5 years ago, i want to start doing my excercise an lose weight but im scared that i might be pregnant, but its just eating me up inside thinking what kinda man would be the father, anyways im tierd of waiting an the pregnancy tests are negotive what can be the problem can it jus be stress i dont kno i think thats to long and is excersising going to do anything please help me??? am i pregnant?? is it right to excersise an lift weights etc.... please let me know what do you think thanks for reading!!!!

  1. yes stress - not pregnant - go to the gym but eat healthy good balanced diet is needed for your body clock to work properly!

    THANKS FOR WHOEVER GAVE ME THE THUMBS DOWN! - has no one else actually read this girls questions properly - she has said she has done a test and it was NEGATIVE - so i really dont see where the thumbs down can be credited for when i have told her that she should exercise and eat healthily for her periods to be working regular - anyone with common sense would know that!!!


  2. no it's not OK. You need to talk to your doc about getting a test done. It's not bad to exercise to a certain extent but not to lose weight while pregnant.

  3. You need to take a pregnancy test. If you ARE pregnant, it would not be healthy to be actively trying to lose weight. Pregnancy is foe GAINING weight in the healthiest manner possible, not dieting.

    Not only that, but if you are pregnant you should be receiving proper prenatal care, taking prenatal vitamins, and abiding by certain precautions. This is VERY important, and you already have a late start if you are in fact pregnant.

    And if you AREN'T pregnant, you should still get checked out anyways to find out why your period has been missing twice in a row now. There may be an underlying medical issue to be dealt with. Or maybe it is just stress or who knows what else. But the doctor can help you to determine that. They can also prescribe medication to bring your period on if need be, and get you back on track.

    What it comes down to is that you should take a pregnancy test. It would be find to buy an at- home test, but you could also go straight to your ob/gyn or at least a general practicioner and let them know what is going on. They will do a test for you, and no matter the results you will have something to deal with.  

  4. when i was pregnant with my last child i lost weight i was on a low gi diet its healthy and you do loose weight if you have allot to loose i only put on 5kilos the whole pregnancy

  5. You should in NO CIRCUMSTANCE lose weight while pregnant especially on purpose ! I am a Certified P/T and you can exercise while pregnancy ONLY if you get it passed by your Dr. I have weight lifted all through this pregnancy as well as cardio . If you are indeed pregnant you can do what you were doing prior to pregnancy - if you were not lifting weights I would be very careful and only stick to low impact exercises like swimming , walking or get a pregnancy DVD .

    It's not wise to go full force into exercising when you have not been in the past .

    We really can not tell if you are pregnant or not it sounds like you are under A LOT of stress in your situation .  

  6. No its not okay to lose weight while pregnant.Its very dangerous. Your body can buit up ketones, which are basically cells that are produced during diet and starvation. If your not pregnant. They are not harmful. Once you are pregnant. They are extremly harmful for the developing baby. Ketones cause the baby to miscarry. The baby gulps down ketones, b/c its not getting the nutirents from you, so it eats whatever it can get. NOt a safe idea to diet during pregnancy. Aak you doc, and mention about the ketones.

  8. I dont think its good for a soon to be mom to lose weight. with ur situation u should eat healty food because the  food u eat is not only for u but also for ur baby.and please stay away from stress it will affect the baby.
