is russia going to forget the lessons of 67 years ago, when germany allowed Hitler to take them to war with all the consequences of such a futile and stupid action. germany attacked poland and occupied that country, and took us into WW2. and now a russian general has threatend poland with a nuclear strike, if they allow the U.S.. to position a nuclear shield on its soil, does'nt Putin realise such an action in peacetime could only result in full blown nuclear war, and please dont remind me Putin isn't president any more, because he's pulling the strings for the so called russian president elect,, whoever he is.

  1. why don't we all bomb russia

  2. lets all bomb russia an be done wiv it

  3. All the Russians actually said was, if they ever went to war against NATO, they would use nuclear-tipped missiles to destroy the anti-missile systems the Yanks want to install in Poland.  Which is stating the pretty bl**ding obvious, really.

  4. No, I don't think so.  There's a lot of flexing of muscle and posturing but I don't think it will escalate much further than it has - despite the smacking of lips of the media driving it forward....

  5. No - you have made some baseless accusations.  Russia did not attack Georgia, it was the other way round.  Russia is economically strong, and in much better political shape than it has been for a long time.  And in no way does it resemble n**i Germany.

If the US decides to threaten Russia by placing nuclear missiles on its doorstep - then why shouldn't Russia get very annoyed about it - how would the US react if the Russians placed missiles on Cuba?

Russia is concerned that the US is expanding into areas that are traditionality its backyard - the US has troops in Uzbekistan, Georgia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and has held exercises with Ukraine and the Baltic republics - no wonder the Russians are worried.

  6. No , it's a different situation.

America's excuse for putting their missiles on Polish territory is that they would provide defence from an attack by rogue nations such as Iran which is clearly a lie as a attack by Iran would have to cross Russian and Ukranian territory first.

If your neighbour puts up impregnable defences on your border you are at risk if he chooses to attack you.,

Don't forget that the USA has already invaded one country on the border of Russia, Afghanistan.

It can hardly criticise Russia for doing the same.

  7. Its sort of a rule of time, or whatever you prefer to call it.

The purpose of teaching history in school is so that it isn't repeated.

That solution doesn't seem to be too dependable.

    History will always repeat itself.

So i think the answer to your question is yes.

That's the problem, people dont seem to get that through their thick skulls that when you repeat things that happen in the past, you only get the same results as before.

You cant do things almost exactly the same .. and expect a new out come, i mean think about it.

There will always be those people that you just want to personally insult and knock some sense into, but unfortunately you cant.

But i had fun writing about this.

Lol, Hope i could help you..

  8.   Put it this way; what would the US do if Russia put nukes on Cuba again? Why does the US or anybody else want to put missiles right up against another countries back door if not as a threat? I hate the sound of sabre rattling no matter who does it, and the only people who like it are the b******s who make the guns for other men's kids to carry into battle.Aircraft, helicopters, tanks and guns last for years unless they are used up, and there is no profit in that. Anyway, its only poor mens kids that get killed and crippled, and who the h**l cares about them if there is money to be made?

  9. Can anything else be expected from a country led and ruled by an ex-KGB boss?

  10. Animals learn through evolution, and nature adapts and learns from changes in our planet. But who never learns and never really changes????yep it people, who think they are the smartest things ever.Their intrinsic selfishness and self absorption is too strong for humanity to move on to better things.l stand alone as a worthy human being (hang on,that's being judgemental and selfish also) Ho Hummmm

  11. I dont really think i could do anything about it, so what can I do?

  12. The actions of Russia follow its attempts to regain his hegemony over neighboring states it had during the existence of the USSR.  There is not a lot that can be done about it although the verbal threats one military officer made against Poland is probably going to be more common in the future.  Poland is taking a calculated risk but it knows that if it caves to Russia, it is only a matter of time before there are Russian troops on its soil as Georgia is experiencing.

Russia is being the traditional bully it has been even in the Czarist days.  They are not very suave when it comes to diplomacy jumping too quickly to military "solutions".  What we have to do is to get them preoccupied with other problems.  Internal disputes and such.  Ideally Russia needs to be split into two countries to trim their innate aggressiveness, with Siberia being a separate country as a Pacific and Arctic Ocean nation.

You are correct that Putin is in charge and what we now have in Russia is a virtual democracy.  If you want to explore the failure of democracy in Russia you might want to read "Democracy Derailed in Russia" by M. Steven Fish, who is at UC Berkeley, published in 2005.

  13. Russia are just protecting there people, USA entered Iraq and are still there, so they cant critsize.
