  1. I think being critical in certain cases is fine. It's when it borders over into pomposity that it drives me insane....

In regard to this site I have many times changed my mind about certain thing due to a criticism , but only if I trust the poster . If it's someone I generally respect.

When it turns into a personal attack or sheer nastiness I don't want to know. I do think this site suffers from a lot of people who think they are super intelligent and it is their job to 'educate' us plebs. Fixed and erroneous attitudes are a cancer.

We should all be open to other opinions , I like to think I haven't decided on everything and I am still 'evolving' !

  2. As long as theres a thread of truth in what we say!

  3. its all part of the tapestry

  4. no it's not hypocritical, it's human nature to want to have your say, and criticism can be a good thing.

  5. Tapestry definitely tapestry!  If youcan analyze their argument and be objective as you rebuke them then there is a certain harmony.

  6. If we don't it will never change

  7. Constructive criticism can be a good thing, but not for the sake of it.

When we criticise people we are generally criticising those things in others that we dislike in ourselves.

  8. An opinion is different from a criticism.

Even hypocrisy will be viewed differently, depending on who is judging the other person's opinion.

I suppose that's part of the reason human relationships have so many problems.

  9. I agree with what Haz has said.

And I personally believe in what Michael said in constructive criticism but what really gets me is those who personally attack another person in a sickening condescending manner just because they refuse to tolerate their differing opinion. Like here on yahoo the Q's aren't to do with the posters and so we hope to just expect an answer to our q, not abuse but on CE it's mostly opinions because of the category. But some users really can't accept that someone disagrees with them. The argument becomes unimportant, they just need to be told they are right and everyone else is wrong!

The hypocrites are those who dish it out but can't take it and yell the loudest claiming to be victims........ I never trust a wolf in sheep's clothing.. And it's only a matter of time before their true colours are revealed....
