Me and a friend were at Burger King and the two girl workers at the window were pointing and laughing because we were g*y. We talked to the owner who did nothing and just threatened to call the police if we didn't leave.

Can we sue Burger King for this?

  1. Yup.

  2. yes

  3.    It is illegal but proving it is really hard to do. Like the girls are going to admit to making fun of g*y people. Right!

  4. discrimination means they did not serve you or did not hire you. They laughed at you and they have the right to do that.

  5. No.

    1. g*y rights legislation is rare.

    2. Even if MN has a g*y rights law on the books (which I sincerely doubt), it would govern things like employment, housing, public service, etc. It would not cover BK employees acting the fool.

I would call BK customer service / coroporate and complain to them. Odds are you'll at least get an apology and some free stuff. Companies don't like the spectre of discrimination.

  6. I doubt you could sue,but the owner should have done something about it.They are all apparently closed minded idiots.Sorry you had to go through that...

  7. What damages did you incur? While the employees may have been rude it did you no harm.  And really how do you know they were laughing at you personally? Sorry you were hurt by this but nothing to sue for.
