  1. I am not sure of the road rules over there (I'm in WA) but I think that one car towing another is legal only for short distances i.e. within 10km of your destination. Other than that I think that a tow tuck may be required. If you call your states Department for Planing and Infrastructure they should be able to tell you what you need to know.

    Hope this helps.

  2. For $70 it is heaps easier and cheaper to hire a car trailer.

It is quite difficult to be the 'towee' and i have seen quite a few accidents resulting from the 'tower' being the more experienced driver and expecting too much.  Get the trailer.  You get peace of mind, plus a much less chance of having an accident.

  3. Yes, in almost all countries in the world...

  4. In the U.S. if this happened you can tow the vehicle to a safe place or even home as long as it is not like 100 miles or so.

You can do this without any paperwork or all of that other stuff that everyone is telling you that you need as long as it is in the daytime.

I have had to do this many times over the past 35 years and not once did I have a problem and yes the police did pass by and said nothing.

  5. For business no! if its your car then it should be alright -with a pull wire.

  6. The only LEGAL way to tow a car like that is with a rigid towbar... but usually nobody does anything about it is done in safety and at a safe speed. On a highway and a car being towed will not have maximum braking or steering and minimal visibility... so would have to be towed at a slow pace and would cause a traffic hazard on a major highway. Therefore it would only be permitted to tow to the nearest exit for safety reasons

  7. don,t know that country, but usually if you have a tow bar and lights you,re ok a rope no brake lights you will not be able to

  8. Legality and requirements vary by location.    Check with your local police.

Whether legal or not,   it would be safer to put all in one vehicle and return,  or send a service,   with the proper equipment.    Safer for passengers,   safer for others on the highway,  safer for the car.

  9. in the US not legal without proper equipment and trailer lights

  10. Don't know about road rules in Australia, but in the US it's only legal with the proper permits and tag/auxilary lights. So I assume Australia has similar rules. You can always ask your local motor vehicle registry or state police department.

But the safest legal way of doing it, even in the US is to hire a ramp truck company to transport your vehicle to your intended destination.
