  1. NO!

  2. No, The landlord is obligated by law to collect and pass on to them all rental proceeds. Once the property is in foreclosure and the borrower no longer makes payments, all rental proceeds belong to the lender in order to off set the lack of payment.

Although your landlord is probably pocketing the money.

  3. Nope.

  4. No.  The landlord is legally entitled to rent payments until the day that ownership changes hands.

  5. No.

Nothing in your lease says that you don't have to pay if the landlord is in foreclosure.

The landlords financial problems do not entitle you to live for free.

You stop paying - your landlord can and will evict you.

  6. No, but it would be a little difficult for him to file an eviction notice at the courthouse on you....

  7. The answer is yes (at least in Kansas) I was just talking about this with someone who was telling me that this is an illegal trick that landowners will pull on unsuspecting tenants. If you know the lender you should contact the lender about the rent.
