It is not illegal in the U.S. of A. However, it might be taboo to certain groups or religions. In this country it is not even illegal if they "do it".

IN WHAT STATE IS THIS IN? A MOTHER AND SON CAN SLEEP IN THE SAME BED IF THEY CHOOSE TO. IT MIGHT LOOK AND SOUND STRANGE BUT ITS NOT ILLEGAL.

Most states have a two heart beat per room law. Even if the mother sleeps in the same room (different bed or whatever) it is not illegal.
