Is it illegal for an interviwer to organise a job interview for a student during school hours?

I'm 16 years old and at school. I've applied for a part-time job and have received an interview for next Friday morning. I have been told that it is impossible for me to get a different time or date for my interview. A friend of mine has told me that he thinks this is illegal and that as I am at school, they have to offer me an interview out of school hours. Does anyone know anything about this? If possible, could you find me a website to confirm your answer. (If your answer is yes, it is illegal, that is) UK answerers only please, as I want information that applies to me. Many thanks.

I would imagine UK laws are similar to US laws on this in that employers can conduct interviews at whatever time they want.  They don't have to hire you, so if you can't make the interview then you're just out of luck.
