  1. Yes it is. Someone got prosecuted a while back for sitting in a car with a laptop, using someone else's internet from a nearby house.

It is very illegal, and they could be done for this.

  2. In australia theft of Wireless broadband is illegal, you will have to contact your service provider and they may get some one out. Don't put up with whippy answers like, Oh its fun, Oh u need to share what rubbish. If some one stole there PC or there car or items that belong to be let see there answers then..... Don't put up with UP.....

  3. I'm pretty sure it is.

  4. no its fun

  5. How are they getting into it if it's password protected?

Stealing a wireless signal is perfectly legal.  Hacking isn't.

You need to check your security settings again.

  6. Under the Digital Millennial Copyright Act, the United States made it illegal to break through software encryption.

For this reason, it is illegal for them to use it if you have an encrypted password protecting it.

If you did NOT have a password/encryption protecting it, however, it would be perfectly fine.  There is nothing illegal being done, to my knowledge.  In fact, many people don't put a password on their wireless Internet, because they want people to freely access it if they choose.

  7. If you're using WIFI, there's a software switch that you can turn on to make your system private so they can't share your signal.  Call your internet provider - they'll know about it.

If it's a cable hookup, switch to DSL (the phone kind) - cable is shared with everyone in the neighbourhood and it can slow down.  DSL can't be shared.

One of those 2 solutions should fix your problem.  If not, call your internet provider and complain.

  8. yes it is... but you don't have a way of proving it, so apart from putting a password I don't think there's much you can do... have you tried talking to them?

PD. how did they get the password?... try to keep changing it

  9. if it's against your will, then Yes. It is

  10. You need to share!! Life is too short to worry about that c**p.

    JUSSSSSS Joking people.

  11. Yes, unless they are rich

  12. It is illegal.  Call the cops and press charges against them.   Change your pass word daily.
