  1. yeah it is.

  2. A minor cannot enter into a contract, which is what was created when the seller accepted the $450 down payment and agreed to accept payments. You don't have to have a license or insurance to buy a car, just to drive and register one.

The seller hasn't broken the law, but the minor cannot be held to the terms of the contract. I would think the seller should give the money back.

  3. It's not illegal to sell a car to a minor, but if it's financed, it is an unenforceable contract.  You should have no trouble getting your money back, as long as they get the car back in the same condition.

  4. A minor cannot not enter into a contract.  You can get your money back

  5. No it is not illegal; but, the contract is not binding because a minor can not enter into a legally binding (on the minor's part) contract.  Now, IMO if the parent was there and agreed to it (even verbally) in most states it would be legal by implied consent.  I hope that answers the question for you.

  6. It is not illegal. They are sort of correct, but for the wrong reasons.

A minor can enter into a "legal contract". Write a document saying that you owe someone money and sign it. It's legal.

A minor cannot, however, posses THE TITLE of the car. The parent, or someone else old enough, must have their name on the title until the child is 18.

  7. Unless there's a refund policy, no money back. Shouldn't have been silly.

  8. a minor cannot enter into a legal contract. she should get the money back. in fact the parents should ask for the money back.
