Question:

Is it illegal in NS for little kids to drive electric toy cars on the road and on the shoulders of the road?

Little kids on my street drive their electric ride-on cars up and down the street . It makes a lot of the neighbours very nervous but the parents, who are nice people, just ignore any comments about it not being very safe. I don't want to make enemies by phoning the police but I'll feel pretty horrible if something happens and I didn't call.

Does anyone know the law? These kids also play on the street and in the ditches alongside the street. If a car swerved to avoid a dog pr something and ended up in the ditch they'd be killed!

What do you advise?

  1. I live in FL and if it is on the road it has to be tagged and driven by a licensed driver.  I know this first hand because my 12 year old used to ride his electric scooter to the store.  One day the police came knocking.

  2. there is no law but tell anyway its unsafe and there a law for playing on the roads and thats pretty close to what they're doing

  3. Yes, call the local authorities who will talk to the persons responsible for this unsafe activity. If you don't report it, those children may be injured or killed by an unaware driver!

You would be doing a public service by reporting it.

  4. Just call your local police department and tell them what is going on and they will take care of this for you.....

  5. What the h**l.  Why not.  Give em a pack of smokes a six pack and wish em a happy day on the road.

There are consequences for taking action and consequences for not taking action.

Let you conscience be your guide.  We all know the difference between right and wrong.

I'd rather be despised for doing the right thing than to do nothing at all and live with the consequences of a tradgedy.
