Is it illegal in maryland to do DNA paternity testing without the knowledge OR CONSENT OF THE MOTHER?

  1. Nope. Go ahead if you have doubts. If the mother is claiming that you are the father then you have parental rights too.  I have a friend who paid child support for 9 years and then he found out that his ex-wife had an affair and the child was not his. HE was a good father but he had his doubts from the beginning as to the paternity of his child but his ex-wife was very adamant about not allowing any medical exams or tests being done on her son. She knew what the results would be. She even told her son not to allow anyone to take his blood. One day my friend took a saliva sample from the boy and had it tested against his own. HE WAS NOT THE FATHER! He spent almost a decade being tied to his shrewish ex-wife because she lied to him about the kid.


  2. no why would it be? Unless they violently got the DNA somehow, in which case that is the problem, not the test.
