  1. Most places give it for free.

Its up to them if they want to give you water - because it does cost a bit of money, and they could say that they dont want you using their glasses.

If your buying something else you can get it for free usually anyway.

  2. I can't say for Scotland but in England you can charge the smallest coin of the realm for the use of the glass.

  3. It is not exactly illegal and yes they can charge if anyone if a n one is dull enough to buy it

  4. The provision of free tap water isn't a legal requirement in England & Wales unless conditions are imposed on the licence. It is however a legal requirement in Scotland that premises authorised for the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises must provide free tap water under the provisions of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, Schedule 3, s.9(2).

  5. It is not illegal, just short-sighted.

  6. it is illegal to deny a person water in  any store or fast food resturant.

  7. NOT ILLEGAL TO CHARGE!

    just bad business not to

  8. They serve tap water and charge?.. Thats the equivalent of charging for the water you find in the toilets..

  9. That sounds just ******' terrible!

I live in Arizona-I can only imagine what would happen if they charged for water in the hottest state in the states!
