Is it illegal to bury an animal outside of your own garden?

I live in the UK, is it illegal to bury a larger animal such as a dog outside of your own garden, in unused land like a forest area ?

yea im pretty sure its legal if its ur land, because our old pet jack russel is buried in the garden
