No it's not illegal. I'm guessing you're from the U.S? I'm not from the States but I know that you can. The only thing that would be considered 'illegal' by the U.S is spending money in Cuba with out a license from the OFAC (not so much travel as is the money issue).

Go ahead and buy the book. And hopefully you'll be able to travel to Cuba and experience the beauty of the island and the people.

You can buy Cuba travel guides in the US. No problem. My friends went recently and got there by catching a flight from Mexico.

In the U.S.?

No. If you go to a bookstore with a decent variety, you will see books for Cuban travel. I've seen them. You can also order them from Amazon.com and other websites. It's not illegal to buy a book about Cuba and Cuban travel. You simply can't go to Cuba from the United States. Many Americans buy those books and then fly to Cuba through Canada.
