I found my high school teacher's phone number online, and I know that he knows something that I need to know. Is it wrong or illegal to call him? I'm 18, and he's no longer my teacher.

  1. I doubt it, it's just like calling a long lost friend. :)

  2. If your teacher has his number in the phone book (it would have to be, if you found it on line) then he is not afraid for people to call him.  I would think, as long as you address him with respect, he would be happy to hear from you and answer your questions.

  3. No. Why would it be illegal? You can call your current teachers if you want. Shiitt.

  4. Nothing against the law about it. You might want to tell him who you are and why you are calling..  and limit it to the one call.  If he refuses to answer you..  then give up.

  5. 99% sure its legal, good luck!

  6. no..even if you call to ask him for s*x it would not be illegal at this point.

  7. yea its ok, hes just a regular person.

  8. its not illegal because u need to know if he has something for u to know....rite????

(its jus illegal to prank call him)

  9. No, I've called up my past high school teachers when I am home.  The phone calls were very platonic and professional.

  10. It's never illegal to contact someone, unless there is a direct court order prohibiting it.  However, you may never harass anyone, regardless of your relationship to him or her.

Feel free to contact your teacher, but if he asks that you not contact him again, do him and yourself a favor and oblige.

  11. no its fine

  12. no its ok..

  13. it's legal. your an adult. is it right or wrong / depends what your calling him for.

  14. its an invasion of privacy, you might want to write him a letter or email through a reunion.com or classmates.com or go to the school he teaches in or call the school and leave a message for him there.

to do it in any other manner is an invasion.

  15. You're an adult calling another adult.  Perfectly legal.

One caveat: If you're thinking of having some sort of sexual activity with this person, do know that he or she could very well lose their job, even though it would be legal to start such a relationship at this point.

  16. It would not be illegal to call him.  Whether it is wrong would depend on his personality.  If he is a decent kind of guy, I would think he would be OK with it, if it is an appropriate question.

  17. no its ok...u might creep him out though

  18. No you're just calling him you're not stalking him

  19. No my bf's sister does and he calls her lol just to say whats up lol

  20. No you can call him.  As long as you had a decent relationship with the teacher, I bet the teacher would love to hear from you.  When I was in Kindergarden, I had a teacher Mrs. Shields.  My family moved from South Jersey to outside Chicago, IL.  Are old neighbor who kept in touch with my Mom would see Mrs. Shields in town or around and just about every single time Mrs. Shields would want to know how I am.  I mean, I barely remember the lady and the only thing I remember about Kindergarden is I told the Art Teacher to "shut up" - needless to say, I had to take home the letter.  I later found out - my parents and Mrs. Shields had a good laugh at my performance (of course I got in trouble).

  21. There's nothing illegal or wrong about an adult calling another adult.

  22. i dont think so-but is creepy you found his number

  23. no call them

  24. Call him and tell him what you need to say...

Your an adult, he is an adult.

All you have to do is be polite when you ask him whatever you need to say so he wont call the police on you for phone threatening or something like that, you know???

    :)

  26. no, it is not.

  27. Of course it isn't illegal! I've called my teachers before, and they still ARE my teachers.

  28. No way! My math teacher in middle school gave out his number so we could call him if we had a hard time on our homework and needed help.
