  1. yes, you don't need a knife anyway. Are you trying to be cool, or intimidate people? That's a waste of time. Instead you should be trying to better yourself as a human being.


  2. why would you want to carry a balisong on the street anyway? ..it only has one purpose. they are really quit sh*tty knives.

  3. Technically yes, they are illegal. The law is vague and only states that "ordinary pocket knives" are legal, but even that isn't defined very well.  And because butterfly knives are popularly known in the public eye as "weapon knives," you likely be subject to arrest if caught.

    However, Florida DOES issue knife permits to citizens, to carry concealed.  Best apply for one at the court house before you buy if possible. I've never applied, but according to statutory law it should be possible to get a permit for a balisong.

    That being said, I must concur with the general consensus, that they are rubbish knives and only good for petty thugs.
