Is it illegal to carry bullets with no gun permit or a gun?

in a school you would be arrest on the spot and the school would go into lock down. have you read the newspapers lately?

why would you want to have bullets on you going into school.....also the school does not permit that and you will get introuble....

Most states I am aware of prohibit weapons of virtually all kinds in schools and other sensitive areas such as courthouses, and they also prohibit ammunition of any kind.  Other than that, absent certain state restrictions on age or some unusual state/local regulation, you can carry bullets around.
