  1. I doubt that there is an actual law that makes it illegal.  However, it's not a good idea in most situations.  If you were coasting down a big hill, there would be other laws through which they could give you a ticket.


  2. coasting is not a good ideal and really if you cant coast a few miles then your just wasting time ... you want to save gas try max pressure in the tires and a clean air filter be light on take offs and coast more to stops lights and signs

  3. It's illegal in most states. The reason....what if your car cuts off ...you don't know it....and you don't have brakes or power steering that works?
