  1. No it is not illegal, and never has been.

Counting cards is merely using your skill to play the game.  It's not cheating, and there is nothing wrong with it.

However, if a casino suspects you are doing it, they will simply ask you to stop playing Blackjack.  They are not going to take you to the basement and beat you.

  2. I'm not sure.

  3. in lv, where i am literally sitting in a hotel/casino biz center, it is not illegal.  however, the casinos reserve the right to refuse entrance to their casino.  so, what would happen is not legal charges but as the first poster pointed out, they don't like it.  they would invoke their right to ban you from the casino.  they share the information with each other as i understand it too.  this could mean you could get banned from all casinos.  although unlikely.

it is not illegal.  it is just not something you want to get caught doing WHILE making quite a bit of cash.  sometimes the dealers will talk about it openly at the table but if you are going from a 20 dollar bet to a 30 dollar bet because the count is high, no one cares that you counted the cards.  they care when you make 20 dollar bets all night then up it to 500 dollar bets then 1000 bet at the end of the shoe.

not an expert on this topic.  just happen to be a gambler in LV who asks a lot of questions myself:-)))

  4. It isn't illegal, and it isn't cheating, with that being said, it is frowned upon by casinos.  Casinos are private property and they can ask you to leave for any reason they want, and if you are counting cards and really jacking your bets accordingly, you will be asked to leave and not come back and you will be black booked. At low levels 5/10/25 to 100 they probably wont say anything though.  I

  5. no

  6. It is not illegal, a good way to describe it might be "taboo" as in how dare you enter a sacino and win money.

In the united states, there are even case laws that stand to protect card counters, and despite what you saw in the movie 21, you will likely not get shot/stabbed or beaten for counting cards.

I personally have been asked to leave several times,  and the most common thing they say to you is, "your too good for us, so we are goign to ask you to leave"

Its really not as big a deal as peopel think it is

  7. It isn't technically because there's no rule against it but it is frowned on.

Big casinos and such would kick you out if they think you may be counting cards, i suppose as long as you're sneaky it's perfectly legal because there's no rule against it
