Is it illegal to download youtube videos using real player?...?

and THEN transfer it onto an MP4 player using real player?

and...is it safe to download things from youtube onto real player or will there still be risks of viruses, like when using limewire?

i dont really want to use limewire and get caught and get fined! =)
