Is it illegal to drive with no air bags if my car came with SRS airbags?

Question

I got in an accident on friday (nobody was hurt) and i'm working on rebuilding the front of my car. My air bags went off (driver/passenger) and it's real expensive to replace them ($600 just for airbag). I was wondering if somebody could tell me if it's illegal to drive with no airbags. Please don't tell me that im stupid and not being safe. Drivers "back in the day" never had airbags. I also accept the risk if i do get in a fatal accident. If a mechanic, body shop guy, or even a government official could answer this question...please

If you are worried about getting caught without an airbag... well, they don't check for that.

No there is nothing illegal about it, it's just illegal for someone to remove a working SRS system out of someone elses car. Yes it might be a lil dumb but yes airbags are expensive not including a new SRS computer module and crash sensors cause they are all good for only 1 use, probably be about $3000 to replace everything. But no you are free of criminal prosecution just not serious injury lol   Good Luck

Nope, not illegal in Utah or Arizona.

Not illeagal to drive knowing that it doesn't work, if car had passenger side air bags, let your passengers know it doesn't work. But don't forget 7-8 years latter that they don't work and sell the car without written proof that the new owner knows the airbag system is useless.
