Is it illegal to fire someone for wanting to go to school?

My sisters boss is going to fire her because he said you cant work and go to school. not even if you get your hours to be nighttime.

Most states are fire at will, which means you can be fired for basically any reason besides race, religion, s*x and things like that, or unless she has a contract with the company, which I doubt she does.  The boss must feel she will not be able to complete the job duties if she is in school and therefore she could be fired.  There's really nothing you can do about it.

nope, most states have at-will employemnt meaning they dont even need a reason to fire you

If she works at a time when she isn't at school and the boss is happy for her to work those hours then he can't fire her because there is no reason to.
