  1. no, only if you photocopy or reproduce it exactly.

  2. No. A hand drawn sketch is a creative work in it's own right.

  3. It is if you start claiming it as your own work, and selling it to people.

  4. I really don't know for sure... but if I were you i wouldn't think about it unless your going to like say it's yours or something. The reason I'm telling you this is because in art class last year in school, our class tried to recreate a famous painter's sketches. That drawing of mine- the one that I recreated- went to the museum as a art class deally.

    So I don't think it's a big deal

  5. Yes but you cannot sell it.

  6. i dont think so, as long as you dont show it off or sell it

  7. Yes, a free-hand copy is a type of derivative work, for which the law reserves ownership to the original copyright owner, although the sketch may have some creative content of its own.  Similarly, making a translation of an entire book into a different language is a copyright infringement, although the translator may have used some discretion to choose the best way to interpret some phrases.

If the free-hand sketch were somehow modified to become a parody of the original, it might fall into one of the few exceptions.

  8. it's done all the time. Don't profit off of it and you'll be fine

  9. Your not supposed to copy or duplicate a copyrighted illustration in any format but, people do it all the time. So long as you don't attempt to capitalize on it then it probably is okay.

  10. If you sell it it is illegal.
