Is it illegal to grow plants that some people consume for mind-altering effects? (Not pot)?

It's obviously not illegal to grow morning glories but is it illegal to grow Psilocybe Mushrooms (shrooms) or wormwood? I know it's illegal to grow marijuana which made me curious if these or other plants not mentioned are illegal to grow...

Just a technical point: you're talking about growing plants, but then mention Psilocybe mushrooms... mushrooms are fungi, which aren't plants.

It really just depends on the plant.  The rule of thumb is that if it is easy to process, it's out.  If it is very difficult to process, or if the mind altering effects are NOT widely known, it's usually okay.
