Is it illegal to have a siren in your car in NY?

I have a car with a siren in it, but i want to know if it is illegal to have it in your car? Like, is it only illegal if i use it? Or can i have it and not get in trouble as long as i dont use it?

It is not illegal unless you use it to impersonate a police officer or cause a nuisance, some burglar alarms have a siren, mine does and if i hold the panic button the siren will sound but it is legal.~
