they grow in cow fields throughout the U S . they are considered a schedule 1 substance . posession for the purpose of ingestion is a felony . by the time symtoms of eatting the wrong 'shroom appear , its to late to treat . see also Mycocology .

yes its illegal to possess them but in most states it is legal to buy the spores to grow them. its your best bet to buy the spores so you know they are the right species and grow them yourself.
