  1. Yes it is my friend.

  2. yes! your friend has to be insured to drive the car!!

  3. If they have cover on their policy that allows them to drive other peoples cars, as long as its not a company car.

They should have a full license and carry a copy of their insurance details with them. If they have an accident it is their insurance that covers the car, depending on their policy. I drive my brothers car and my wifes car all the time

  4. Yup...but my mam always takes my dads car anyways to go to the shops ha!

  5. It is, unless you have an open car insurance (as opposed to a certain amount of named drivers) which is obviously much more expensive.

  6. Yes it is.

Motor vehicle insurance is compulsory in Ireland. You cannot drive a vehicle for which you are not insured and all vehicles should display an insurance disc on their windscreen. Costs can vary greatly between different insurance companies so it’s advisable to check prices with several companies. Some companies will accept a no-claims bonus from abroad. However, you will need to provide written evidence of your insurance record and each case is assessed individually.

  7. Absolutely illegal.

Why do people only see their side of it.  what happens if your friend hits someone and damages their car or injures them.  They don't deserve to have to foot any bills which might occur just because your or your friend didn't have insurance.

    Dont even think about it.

  8. Yes, the owner & driver will both get heavy fines and the vehicle will be confiscated, (if caught, that is)

  9. yup

  10. Yeah of course it is!! If the car was in an accident then the driver and owner would be brought to court.

  11. If your friend has a full licence then your policy should cover them

  12. yes it is illegal,if your caught you will get a hefty fine from the court, don,t do it.
