Is it illegal to obtain a picture from reputable stores and ask for it to be manufactured yourself?

Manufacturers will try to mimic the designs as per the pictures only, and will exclude any brand logos or names. Material and measurements will also be different. Will this qualify for any illegality? If yes, how?
