  1. Yes. Much like interstate highways, pedestrian traffic is not allowed on train tracks. You can be prosecuted if you are found walking on them, but whether or not you are depends on how the law enforcement who finds you feels that night.

Hope he's having a good one, I suppose.

  2. Yes. Train tracks are private property. It's also illegal to go around a lowered gate.

  3. In the USA, tracks come under Federal laws and you can be fined up to $5000.00

  4. Not only illegal but exceptionally stupid. Train = heavy, fast, Human body = soft. If the two come into contact guess which gets away to live another day?

  5. h**l yeah it illegal and not to mention dangerous.  Your foot could get caught in one of the track pieces and when a train comes you'll be through.  And if you put anything on those tracks it could cause the train to derail which would be dangerous to the operator and the people living near by especially because all of those tankers the train pulls only god knows whats in those things.  If you were on the track and the train is coming you may not have enough time to get out of the way those wheels on that train could easily cut you into diced pieces.  And if a cop catches you your screwed but safe, and don't put something on those rails if you do and it damages someones car you'll be fined for it if a cop or someone sees you doing it and reports it.

  6. Yes, I work for a railroad and walking on the tracks is very harmful if you do not know about the speed or frequency of trains on tracks.

  7. You would have to check your local laws.  Where I live, it is illegal to be in the railroad's "right of way"

  8. It is not only illegal, it is very dangerous and stupid.

A train travelling at full speed takes around a mile to come to a stop. They weigh up to hundreds of tons - even a small train weighs many times that of a car and a car can easily kill someone.

So think what a train will do if it hits a human body.

The best way to describe it would be like a cross between being thrown into a giant blender and crushed in a giant press.

In other words, keep off train tracks. Trespass on them is a criminal offence for which you can be fined £1,000 or imprisoned for 6 months, or both. That's if you're still alive and in one piece when the British Transport Police catch up with you.

  9. Yes, it is illegal and it is also foolish-nearly 300 people die on train tracks in the UK alone each year.

  10. h**l yeah: I'm not saying it's not fun, but if you see a cop or a train you should get the h**l outta there
