I like to think that if this person is renting out property he/she owns the house, and therefore that this person must be a citizen or at least documented (to own a house). However, I don't like to rely on assumptions and do not want to get into any trouble. I feel that to ask would violate this person's rights, not to mention be dangerous for me. However, something seems shady about the whole situation, and I really can't afford to rent from anyone except these shady characters.

  1. did u just said than u can only afford renting if being helped by "shady characters" !? ....  as far as i know u cannot get in troubles for who u rent from as u would not get in troubles from who u eat from ... did u knew than 60 percent of the American food depends in the labor of undocumented immigrants !? well there u go , so far nobody has gotten in troubles for eating from them so why would it be different if u rented from them !? ... in some states the person who rents its required to ask for ur proof of residence or citizenship but so far nobody has said anything about who u rent from . in states like California it is against the law to inquire about someone else's legal status by the way .
