Is it illegal to rent the usage of playstation 3 as a business?

I'm not positive on this, but in order to make it legit, you have to buy a system that is specifically sold for the purpose of renting it out.  It is because it would cost a lot more since you'd be making long term money on it.  I know this is the way for movies at movie rental places.  For example, you might normally pay 25 bucks for a movie to buy yourself...the store pays like 100 dollars per copy.

I wouldn't think so. In fact if I remember correctly I used to know someone who would rent video game systems from some place. If you paid for it you can do whatever you want with it, it's not like their company is getting cheated any. It's not much different than buying one and selling it to someone else, is it?

Just like you can't record a movie or sports event and then charge people to watch it.

You can but renting a ps3. You can get it stolen and never get it back thats why you have to use a credit card for it so if they steal you charge them for the game\system
