Is it illegal to ride your bike on the sidewalk as long as you're going at a little over the walking speed?

--- in California --- i come on people, isn't it okay to ride a bike on the sidewalk as long as you're making audible signals and going a little over the walking speed, maybe like 4 - 5 mph and stuff? please give me a pretty answer ~ i beg you~ x] oh and im 15, if that helps with the age thing that kids could ride on the sidewalks instead of roadways for safety at least, besides the streets i need to ride on are like wide and we have stop lights and everything soo.... yeah

    You make a good argument with the safety concern, but again, the law doesn't care.

    no vehicle is supposed to be driven or ridden on a public walkway.

  5. Yes, it is illegal to ride your bike on the sidewalk.  It doesn't matter how slow you are going.  You put pedestrians in danger by riding your bike on the sidewalk.  You are still young and maybe one day you will understand this.
