  1. it depends on the kind of hacking

  2. Well it isn't fair. People do deserve their own internet privacy. So.. I'd say it is illegal. I'm sure it is, I mean downloading music is.. so..hacking is a lot worse than that.Hacking is ohh so wrongg!

  3. YES

  4. yea... is it illegal to sell drugs? even if u dont use them... its ilegal to hack, so teaching people to hack is no better

  5. You want to sell things that people made for free to further the understanding of computers and their security? I think that goes against a lot of well understood principles of the blackhat computer security scene. Information's free, alright? If you want to sell, make something up of your own and print it in bound copy for sale. Sounds like what you've got is other people's automatically defacto copyrighted IP!

It can be sold under any guise and without snide winks, by the way. With few exceptions, information is just information, only made illegal by actions. Certain things like telephone company books or DMCA-circumvention can't always be printed, but again, most things are fair game. If they weren't Barnes and Noble would not be selling 2600: A Hacker Quarterly, which covers things like stealing DirecTV, hacking into networked soda machines, social engineering, and how to crack various encyption systems.

Also, what is it with the trite moralizing of all these other posters? Give an inch of liberty for security, and see what kind of a State you get! And yes, information's usually legal so far,.though this may change with time and regressive statues akin to the much-maligned DMCA.
