For the past few years, whenever I travel, I make sure I bring some local water back in a water bottle. I've brought back a water bottle from the Mekong...sea water from Singapore, etc. I am just wondering if this is illegal?

I dont' know why I do it...just a wierd souvenir I suppose.

  1. when we were little, my dad used to bring back holy water from jerusalem to bring to his religious coworkers. im assuming youre ok.

  2. You can't bring a bottle of water on board with you. You would have to pack it in your checked baggage and they may confiscate it if they think it could hold something potentially dangerous.

  3. No it's not illegal.

You can only put this watter bottle in your luggage, not your carry-on, as it is over 3 oz. of fluid.

I suggest putting saran wrap on the top and then tighten it with the cap. Put that in a plastic wrap or bag just in case if the water spills.

    Enjoy and have fun!

  4. Not illegal, just not permitted as carry on luggage. You will have to check it in as every fluid containing item bigger than 100ml will be taken from you.

  5. Current regulations prohibit bringing more than 3 oz of liquid onto the plane in your carryon.  However, if you seal the bottle tightly, you can pack larger amounts of liquid and put it into your checked luggage without a problem.  I would recommend using a plastic bottle and putting the bottle inside of a zip top bag, in case it leaks.  Also putting it in the center of your belongings so if your luggage gets tossed around, it should stay intact.

  6. i wouldnt think so

  7. At the end of the day it's all H2O, no different to the water you use at home...
