Is it illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving in georgia and is it illegal to make a right turn on red?

  1. I don't know about talking on a cell phone while driving, but it IS legal to make a right turn on red, AFTER coming to a complete stop. The only place where that is illegal is NYC; or at specific intersections in other cities/locales where signs are posted that say "no right turn on red."  As far as left turns on red - they are usually illegal.  However, if a driver is in the left lane on a one-way street, and turning left onto another one-way street, then this driver CAN turn left on red, after coming to a complete stop.

    Now ... if a driver is talking on his/her cell phone while driving, comes to a red light, and doesn't see a sign that says "no right turn on red" because he/she has been talking on his/her cell phone - then that driver can be ticketed both for talking on his/her cell phone *and* for turning right on red.


  2. Idk about Georgia but it is only illegal to turn left on red but it is ok to turn right.
