  1. yes unfortunately that is fraud

  2. Your attorney can ask the courts to subpoena his bank statements, canceled checks, pay stubs, etc.  But you as an individual can't go snooping through his house or his computer, you can't get a credit report pulled, and you can't ask your cousin Susie who is a teller at his bank to give you a print-out of his accounts.

Good luck. Sounds like you've had a nightmare behind you and have a bigger one ahead of you.

  3. Without the person's consent, yes.  You need to go the subpeona route.

  4. yea..its called fraud and possibly identity theft

  5. Yes, it is illegal to request someone's credit report without their consent. You can, of course, require the production of it during court proceedings by issuing a subpoena.

  6. uh..yes. No one can pull a credit report without permission; looking at jail time and a 5k fine.

  7. its called fraud and can land you in jail.  If you need to prove something go to the court and get a court order..../

  8. Yes it is illegal.  No one can get someone else's credit report and or SS with out their permission

  9. if you have his/her written authorization to pull his credit, then it's not illegal. if you don't have authorization, then it's very illegal

  10. IT IS VERY ILLEGAL!!! My wives cousin did it to her x-husband to get more alimony out of him and she went to jail for 9 months because he pressed charges. It's not exactly identity theft but you cannot do it without someones permission I do know that. Using someones social security number for ANY reason without their permission is a crime and they can bust you big time on it! Don't do it unless you need a vacation for about 9 months.

  11. Yes, it is illegal to request someone's credit report without their consent. But then of course it would, require the production of it during court proceedings by issuing a subpoena. But in other words you can get in alot of trouble...
