  1. I don't know if its legal or not, but that would just be too weird. Even though you're not blood relatives you're still brother/sister. There are too many other people out there to marry.

  2. i think its legal, i think it would be strange, but perfectly legal

  3. It depends on the state you live in.  I actually have cousins that did this and they had to go to a different state from where they lived because once adoption had taken place the law didn't specify blood relation it only specified relation which made it illegal.

  4. no

  5. If you had kids they would be siblings and cousins.  Their father would be their uncle and their mother would be their aunt.  Grandma would also be great aunt, Grandpa would be great uncle.

    Could get confusing.

  6. I'm sure there's a loophole they could use to get married. First cousins are able to in some states like Kentucky.

  7. Because they are legally your brother or sister in most states, unless an exception is made in the laws, it would be illegal.

It very rarely comes up into question with the law, however, it does, and with step brothers and sisters also, which is included in my state as people you can't marry.  The laws are designed to keep people from interfering with family events in the case of divorce.

In our state, it's also illegal to marry a step-child/parent.  (Arkansas)

  8. no it is not legal if your parents adopted them.

it has to do with laws of inheritance and estates, not just the "blood" or genetics.

  9. YOU CAN MARRY ANY ONE YOU WANT AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT BLOOD RELATED

  10. I'm not sure if it's illegal because there is no blood ties, but it is gross...

  11. ew....that would be weird.

in most places it is illegal, but i guess there might be somewhere its ok....?

  12. Legally speaking it is the same as incest. Biologically there is nothing wrong with it.

It HAS happened that BIOLOGICAL sibs have gotten married and even had children before finding out that they were, in fact siblings. (One or both have been adopted into another family.) There was even a recent case where married bio sibs were FORCED to divorce by their government. (I believe it happened in the UK.)

Here's and interesting adoption/marriage story for you: Recently (earlier this year) there were a biological mother and son who were MARRIED in order to restore their "rights" to be RELATED after they were reunited. They are only married on paper and live seperate lives in separate residences. It was legal because they are legal strangers. There was no honeymoon or kiss. They left their wedding in seperate cars and if I recall the quote correctly, said something to the effect of "now if something happens, we have rights to each other again" to the reporters. Clever.

I believe the wedding took place in Nevada but can't find the link. If I come across it I'll come back and edit.
