Well, religous people do it, and religion isn't illegal (though it should be).

Politicians do it.

Preachers do it.

Some religious schools do it.

Social "scientists" do it.

But they don't call it brainwashing. They call it "informing." And it should be illegal.

Well, subliminal messaging, which is a form of brainwashing, is illegal. But it doesn't mean that people don't do it, because it happens all the time in our world today.
