Basically can we open a restaurant without serving drinks? Obviously some people won't come, but does the crowd dwindle so greatly?

  1. NO, don't even allow drunk people in to your restaurant. kick the bevdaas out

make good food and good people will surely flock to your place

    INSHA ALLAH

    Good luck

  2. I frequent many restaurants which don't serve alcohol of any kind.  But I do drink alcohol.

What I go there for is the quality of the food, the value vs. price, and the great service.  These are what make a restaurant successful, not whether you serve alcohol.

People who insist on drinking with every meal usually don't care about the driving principles behind a food business and may come or may not.  Those who care about the food that you serve will come as long as you provide the three basics that I've described.

  3. It depends on the type of restaurant. If it's just a sandwich shop or something similar, don't worry about it. If it's a little more high end, I think you should at least serve beer and wine. Alcohol is the most profitable part of a restaurant.

  4. no-if you have great food and service then the crowd will come to eat-serving a drink is optional. If its common in your area then offer it

  5. i personnaly fel that wine is a must.. thas mine opinion honey........i love scotch too/////but a little liquor is good...candy is dandy but liqior is quicker....thats what I SAY!

  6. It is imperative to serve good food at a reasonable price to make people come in... liquor is just a plus.  Get a beer and wine license and let it go at that.

If the food is c**p.. a liquor license won't save the restaurant.

  7. I  owned a restaurant in New Jersey for a few years. I did NOT serve liquor. The customers told me they came for TWO reasons:

    1> GOOD FOOD

    2> GOOD SERVICE

some even came just to talk to me or my staff. If you sense they are lonely and you accomodate their NEED to talk, even if all they order is coffee,  they will come back over and over and reccommend you to their friends.

This kind of referral advertising CANNOT be bought at any price.

  8. It depends where the restaurant is, the kind of image you give it, and the clientele you want to attract.

If I'm going out to eat, I go to EAT. I go where the good food is. It's nice to have a glass of wine, but not a necessity. Most people in my area like to go to expensive restaurants that serve wicked cocktails and c**p food. But they have to have good drinks to balance out the bad food - let the people toss back a few and then they'll like anything.

If your food is good & can carry itself, hopefully your area has a foodie or more mature population that will appreciate it without liquor. Good luck!!
