  1. It is very important.  Licensed day-cares must adhere to your state's standards whereas unlicensed ones don't have to.  You can also more easily claim your child-care expenses on your taxes if you use a licensed daycare center.  Although a licensed center may be more expensive, they are also regulated more.

  2. I think it's more important if it is licensed, accreditation deals with if the school is recognized so that when your child finished, they can easily enter the 1st grade on up.

If you are just looking for a day care for preschool or under, accreditation is not needed.

  3. Yes, yes, yes.

  4. Yes, very.

  5. Licensed, absolutely. It means there is at least some attention paid to health and safety and group size and some sort of program activities. Just how rigid the standards are varies from state to state. You should be able to find the ones in your state on line.Accreditation is a different thing. The National Association for the Education of Young Children accredits child care programs. It is an arduous and expensive process and there are many fine programs that have not gone through the process and some accredited centers that go through it, get accredited and then get lazy. You are the best judge of where your child will be happy.

  6. Your joking right!!!!
