In the dining room, I want a dark wood/glass table with dark wood/black leather chairs.

In the living room, I have a green couch and want glass/metal coffee table.

The living room and dining room are in the same space (open concept) back to back. Does this color scheme fit ?

  1. sounds like how my house is decorated. my kitchen, family room, and living room are all connected and yet have very different styles. as long as it is obvious that your rooms are separate, and not just one big room with mismatched furniture, you should be fine. make sure you can tell where the room ends, arrange the furniture in that way.

  2. I wouldd get either a painting with a frame that matched what you have in the DR or a chair (or pair of chairs) that are dark wood with black leather to carry the eye over. And I would either use accessories or a painting etc. with the green from the couch in the DR.

  3. It's important to have a good visual flow from one room to another, but they don't have to match perfectly. Try to incorporate some green into the dining room and some dark wood colors into the living room.

  4. Hey this is your home, decorate it, as you want, not someone elses dictates.

If they ask about your style, just tell them it's Eclectic.

How boring is it, to have everything match up? Add a dash of color, here and there, with a foot stool, or small table.

If you like what you have, and you must have liked them when you bought them, then you will love your place all the more.
